Cheap entrance to big music events

Recently Bucharest has been put on the map by big names for their world tours. Depeche Mode, Madonna, Santana, The Killers, Seal… and here to name only a few. You will find that afterall, among the european capitals, Bucharest has probably the cheapest entrance price for the big concerts. You may schedule a trip to Romania in the beginning of July for the grand B’estFest music event – big big names of international electro, pop and rock music. 70 euros for 3 days. And that to name only the biggest. Concerts in clubs take place all the time. Just take a look on the two city guides. We don’t actually sleep at night!

Local agenda

In every central bar or cinema you can expect to find a free brochure with the weekly events that take place in Bucharest. You can find at least two: 24fun or Sapte Seri. They are pretty thick so you have plenty events to choose every week. They are in romanian so you should probably figure out that Cinema, Restaurant or Bar mean the same… For other translations take a look around for somebody nice enough to give you directions.

Peasent Museum

“Muzeul Taranului Român” or the Romanian Peasent Museum has become a venue that went far more than being just a museum. At each religious (and not only) holiday, it hosts fairs and exhibitions of handcrafted objects or traditional food. If you’re lucky enough to visit the place on a day like that, you will have a perfect image over the romanian talent and national traditions. Here’s a list of holidays when you should pay a visit to this place: February 24th (lovers day in Romania), March 1st (Martisor – first day of spring), March 8th (National Women’s Day), Easter, August 15th (Saint Mary), Christmas and many many more. Check their website for the last events. The museum also holds a concert room where (good bands come and play) and a traditional souvenirs shop.
Location: Kiseleff Avenue, close to Metro Piata Victoriei.
